What a CELPIP mock test has to include
CELPIP-General has four sections in one computer-based sitting. The table shows the official section timings. Our practice cards show the timer for each mock; Reading and Listening mocks contain 38 scored questions, while the official test may also include unscored items.

Listening comes first
Each audio plays once in test mode. Follow the on-screen timer for each question or group of questions. The format changes mid-section: Parts 1 to 3 speak the question aloud without printing it, Parts 4 and 6 switch to printed drop-down statements, and Part 5 is a three-person discussion on video. If your first exposure to that switch is the real exam, you lose questions to confusion rather than comprehension. Our Listening guide walks through each part.
Reading is four passages
Correspondence, a diagram-based passage, information paragraphs, and viewpoints, 38 questions in all. Most people who run out of time lost it re-reading Part 3. There is a full Reading breakdown with a practice passage if that is your weak section.
Writing is two tasks, not essays
Task 1 is an email with a required tone and purpose. Task 2 is a survey response defending an opinion. Aim for 150 to 200 words per task and answer every part of the prompt. Writing is assessed on Content/Coherence, Vocabulary, Readability and Task Fulfillment. Speaking uses Listenability in place of Readability.
Speaking is eight tasks against a clock
30 to 60 seconds of prep, then 60 to 90 seconds of recording, task after task, with no do-overs. Study sample answers, then record your own response against the timer before test day. The Speaking walkthrough covers all eight tasks with sample responses.
Turn the result into a CLB level
CELPIP reports each skill on a 12-level scale, and each level is the same number as its Canadian Language Benchmark: CELPIP 9 is CLB 9. For Listening and Reading, count your correct answers out of 38 and read the level off the CELPIP score chart for an approximate range. Raw-score conversions vary between test forms, so a mock level is an estimate. Writing and Speaking have no answer key. Raters score four dimensions: coherence and meaning, vocabulary, listenability or readability, and task fulfillment. A complete answer that is easy to follow scores high even with an accent and the occasional grammar slip, which is why our AI score reports each dimension separately.
Then fix one section for a week
A mock test tells you which section breaks first. If Listening or Reading broke, drill the part that cost you questions until the format is boring instead of queueing another full mock. If Writing broke, rewrite the same two prompts and check every bullet of the prompt against your response before submitting. If Speaking broke, record the same weak task five times with one fix per attempt. Take a second full mock 7 to 10 days later. One mock diagnoses; two mocks measure whether the week worked. Taking two mocks back to back re-measures the same weakness with new questions.

Is there a general mock test for the CELPIP exam?
Yes. This site runs a full CELPIP-General mock test for each of the four skills under real exam timing, and a continuous four-skill sitting that chains them in exam order. Paragon, who own the test, also publish two free official practice tests on celpip.ca, and those are worth doing first for format familiarity.
How do I practice for CELPIP?
Take a timed mock to find your weakest skill. Review Reading and Listening mistakes against the answers, then practise that question type. For Speaking and Writing, use feedback to choose one improvement before trying again. AI feedback gives a practice estimate, not an official CELPIP result.
Is the CELPIP mock test free?
